How much would Cristiano Ronaldo cost Manchester United to buy?

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is currently involved in a tax fraud case and is looking for a move away from the Spanish capital.
He told the court: "In England, I never had these problems, that's why I want to go back there. I always paid my taxes, always.
"In England and in Spain. And I always paid. As you know, I can not hide anything, it would be ridiculous on my part to do such a thing."
He has been linked with a move back to United ever since he left the club for Madrid in 2009.
But what would such a deal cost?

In 2015 Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes told the BBC his client would be available for £300million.
That was two years ago before the market became quite so ridiculous - though Ronaldo is obviously older.
At 32, Ronaldo is in the September of his career, so no club would be making a long-term investment. Not in England at least.

But that £300m figure is not the Portuguese player’s release clause, just a figure Mendes quoted.

Even if a club offered such a sum, Madrid would not be obliged to sell if they didn’t want to.

Ronaldo is contracted to Real until 2021 at least.
It is estimated, according to The Mirror, that his buyout clause is one billion Euros.
So, unless he really pushing for a move, it’s unlikely he will be going anywhere any time soon.
